Training For Travel Health and Safety Policy

TFT have a fully documented health and safety procedure, which ensures that all assessors and learners have health and safety issues included in their induction programme. All learners also receive a full health and safety induction from their employer, which TFT hold details of.

All workplaces are inspected for health and safety issues and any issues are highlighted using appropriate documentation. Follow-up action is taken for any identified problems within set timescales. Formal procedures exist for workplaces that do not comply with health and safety legislation if no corrective action has or can be taken.

The workplace is regularly examined for health and safety in line with our procedures and problems communicated to the Managing Partners and the General Office Manager.

Regular monitoring takes place of learners to ensure that they work within a healthy and safe environment, both at training sessions and in the workplace and procedures are in place to ensure that any problems or concerns are acted upon promptly.

TFT has undergone several health and safety audits in which we have always had satisfactory grades.

All staff receive health and safety updates and health and safety issues are highlighted at staff meetings.

Within the NVQ’s we offer, there is a health and safety unit that is delivered very early in the qualification to highlight the importance of this area to learners, assessors and mentors in the workplace.

TFT have also got a partnership with the British Safety Council and aim to provide all staff members with Level 1 Certificate in Health and Safety at Work to ensure they maintain and are aware of all aspects of Health and Safety at Work.

TFT also plan to gain approval to deliver Health and Safety NVQs during 2009 and 2010.
